1.2. Reflectivity
Laser technology is based on a luminous signal reflected by its environment. Therefore, the notion of
material reflectivity is important and it may affect the detection performances. Indeed, some material are
very reflective (aluminium, paper, bright surface, etc.) and some others much less (cardboard, matt black
material, etc.).
In practice, the devices make a continuous comparison between the reference cartography (defined at the
power on) and the usual measures. Thus, it is well possible to detect an object, even with 0% reflectivity, if
the reference measure of this point was determined. The potential range loss of the lasers is clearly
depending on the site and other conditions.
Globally, Laser systems range decrease as detailed in the
following board :
1.3. Mutual interferences
A laser detector can not disturb the detection of another laser.
Indeed, the time during which the system waits for a laser beam back is infinitely short compared to the
time during which any reading id made on the optical sensor. La probabilité qu’un laser interprète le tir
d’un autre système laser est donc négligeable.
1.4. Events history
Any document can be saved in the detector itself. Only the supervisors connected to it allow to develop a
complete history, with details of detections and associated videos.
1.5. Possible configurations
The integration of the SORHEA detection systems can be made in many ways.
1.5.1. Laser + integrated Dry Contact
All the Laser systems are equipped with an integrated NO/NC dry contact, which is active during a
adjustable time at each detection. This one remains active permanently if the intruder stays in the
detection zone.
In case of technical default of the system, this contact is active too.
Note : the integrated dry contact is available in every following configurations.
1.5.2. Laser + DCB board
A Dry Contact Board (DCB) can be linked to the laser detector. The communication is RS485 (2 or 4
wires).
1.5.2.1. Output contacts :
The Dry Contact Board allows to create zones which indicate the angular coordinate of the intrusion:
- 14 contacts for ALS, PLS 60/100 on 360°
- 4 contacts for LFS on 105° of detection.
- 8 contacts for PLS 30 on 200° of detection
The DCB gives also:
- 1 “no communication” contact
- 1 “system error” contact
